Thelma Jean Henry

Thelma Jean Henry, 87, of Windsor, Missouri, died Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Adair Village in Clinton, Mo.

Thelma was born January 28, 1938 in Chatfield City, Minnesota, the oldest child of Michael Clay and Tena Anne (Blumers) Williams. Thelma married Larry Joe Strong and together they had three children, Lisa Jo, Michael John, and Leah Anne. She later married Harrison “Hank” Henry, and he preceded her in death.

Thelma graduated from Dixon High School in 1956. After graduation, she worked as a CNA at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital, and the former Windsor Nursing Home. She worked for many years at Vincent’s Shoe Store in Windsor retiring when the store closed in 2007.

Thelma was a devoted mother and grandmother, a steady and constant presence in the lives of those who loved her. She took great pride in her home, keeping it tidy and welcoming, and always had something special prepared when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit. She found joy in simple, meaningful routines—drinking a good cup of coffee, tending to her flowers, and yard, chatting out on the front porch or getting together for weekly lunches with friends she cherished. An avid reader of cozy mystery novels, Thelma also valued her faith and was a longtime member of Grace Community Church in Windsor.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Roe, Windsor, Mo.; a son-in-law, Dale Trolinger, Windsor, Mo.; a former daughter-in-law, Winona (Strong) Hunter, Windsor, Mo.; step-children, Mike Henry (Paula), Edwardsville, Illinois, and Shari Henry, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Bobby Trolinger, Tena Lopez (Miguel), and Steven Strong; a step-grandson, Quinn Henry; 5 great-grandchildren, Levi Strong (Brittany), Layne Strong (Hannah), McKenna and Madeleine Lopez, and Trevor Strong; 2 great-great-granddaughters, Marceline Bottomly and Millie Strong; 4 brothers, Mick Williams (Nancy), Clinton, Mo., Billy Williams (Joy), Windsor, Mo., Bob Williams (Jo), Newcastle, Wyoming, and Rodney Williams, Rapid City, South Dakota; and numerous nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and great nieces. In addition to her parents and husband Hank, Thelma was preceded in death by her son, Michael Strong, her daughter, Leah Trolinger, a son-in-law, Charlie Roe, and her sister Joanne Evrard.
