
Today marks the final day for residents to file for candidacy in the upcoming April 7 municipal election, with several positions already drawing interest in Lowry City.
As of today, six local residents have filed to run for three open seats on the Lowry City Board of Aldermen. The openings include an East Ward alderman for a two-year term, a West Ward alderman for a two-year term, and the mayor’s seat, also a two-year term.
Three candidates have signed up for the East Ward alderman position: Kevin Snyder Jr., Cecil Shehorn, and incumbent Jackie Cutler.
For the West Ward alderman seat, Clark Patterson and incumbent Shirley Edmunds have filed for candidacy.
Incumbent Patricia Landes has filed to seek re-election as mayor. In addition, Greg BeVelle has announced his candidacy for mayor.
Candidate filing remains open until 5 p.m. this evening. Residents interested in running for office must complete their filing before the deadline to be included on the April 7 ballot.
