Mary Catherine Biggs

Mary Catherine Biggs, 80, of Windsor, Missouri, died Sunday morning, January 18, 2026, at Windsor Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Windsor, Mo.

Mary was born July 2, 1945, in Marshall, Mo., the daughter of John Edward Moore and Annabelle (Silkwood) Moore. On December 14, 1964, at Mt. Leonard, Mo., she married Charles Edward Biggs, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1987. Mary later found a friend in Bill Hankins, and they shared many happy years together.

Mary worked for the International Shoe Factory in Marshall and Sweet Springs. She later worked as a nurse’s aide for the Missouri State School and Hospital, and as a CNA at Windsor Healthcare and Rehabilitation for a short time. Mary was a member of Mt. Leonard Baptist Church where she served as a youth group leader. She was integral in establishing a monthly youth night. Mary used her creativity to help students plan and lead the worship service. She collected coffee cups and her most cherished one was signed by the students from the youth group. She enjoyed going for drives with Bill and her sisters, making stops at every Casey’s for a drink and snack.

Mary had been a long-time resident at Windsor Healthcare. During her time there, Mary planned activities and crafts for all the residents to enjoy. She was talented at crochet and made many items as gifts over the years. Most recently, she directed a Christmas pageant and made sure all the residents had costumes to participate. Mary had a caring heart for those around her, and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include a nephew, Charles Edward Buford (Michelle); a niece, Tammy Lynn Wood (Dennis Akins); a great-nephew and great-niece; 3 great-great nephews and a great-great niece; Michael Dryer, who was like a son to Mary and Charles; numerous extended Hankins family members; and many friends at Windsor Healthcare. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles; 2 sisters, Helen Buford and her husband Donald, and Shirley Ann Bernard; and her best friend, Bill Hankins.

Memorial services will be Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at the Windsor Healthcare Dining Room. Interment will take place at Sunset Gardens Cemetery, Marshall, Mo., at a later date. The family suggests contributions to the Activities Fund at Windsor Healthcare (please make checks payable to WHCR Activities), and those contributions may be left in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com.
