Cecilia Pauline “Polly” Pollard, 84, of Windsor, Missouri, formerly of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Windsor Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
She was born February 13, 1941, in Gassville, Arkansas, the daughter of William Roy Smothers and Marian Lee (Whitaker) Smothers. In October of 1957, she married William Marion Allen and they were the parents of four children, Veronica Gail, Richard Lee “Ricky,” James Robert “Robbie,” and Tracy Lynn. In 1986, she married Larry Pollard and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2007.
Polly graduated from Mountain Home High School and then earned her LPN degree. She worked as a nurse at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home and at the former Yellville Hospital and then at the Marion County Nursing Home in Yellville. Polly loved her career as a nurse. She enjoyed reading, history, playing card games and gardening. She moved to Windsor in 2008 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Affectionally known as Nana Polly, she loved family gatherings and treasured time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Gail Rogers (Bill), Windsor, Mo., Robbie Allen (Annie), Summit, Arkansas, and Tracy Barnes (Brad), Windsor, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Julie Yadlosky (Paul), Leslie Pilar (Travis), Keri Raycraft (Sammy), Michael Allen (Anna), Jared Allen (Jasmine), Taylor Barnes (Mattea), Chase Barnes, Claire Barnes, Ethan Barnes, and Conner Barnes; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers and sisters, Patricia Cureton, William Roy “Sonny” Smothers II, Nancy Easterwood, Shelly Smothers, and David Rorie; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. In addition to her husband Larry, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee “Ricky” Allen; 3 sisters, Phyllis King, Bonnie Gill, and Pam Dunham; and 2 brothers, Charles Smothers and Vincent Smothers.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Mike Brown officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lee’s Mountain Cemetery, Summit, Arkansas. The family suggests contributions to Lee’s Mountain Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
