Franklin D. Madole

Franklin D. Madole of Windsor, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Windsor Healthcare & Rehabilitation.

He was born August 26, 1933, in Windsor, Mo., the son of Bennett I. Madole and Ella Brooksie (Amos) Madole. On June 8, 1980, he married Nancy Kay Gatlin in Las Vegas, Nevada and she survives of the home.

Frank went to Windsor schools and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He worked for Peabody Coal Co. as a Pit Foreman at the Power Mine, Montrose, Mo., and transferred to the Kayenta Mine, Kayenta, Arizona, also as Pit Foreman. He worked for Arch Mineral Corp., Hanna Wyoming, and Pinson Mining Co, Winnemucca, Nv., as a “cat skinner” (dozer operator). He enjoyed the outdoors and going fishing, boating, and camping. He also enjoyed traveling, especially out West, to dredge for gold. He enjoyed reading about history and tinkering on his Jeep. He loved his family and was tenderhearted towards dogs and cats who needed a home. He was a member of the Windsor United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife Nancy, survivors include a son, Mike Madole, Windsor; a daughter, Julie Acker (Jim Warner), Windsor; 2 granddaughters, Jessalynn Cairer (Travis), and Cortney Blythe (Sean); 5 great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Jordan, Isaiah, Neveah, and Tanner; a great-great-grandson, Khalan; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Carl Madole; 3 brothers, Hurschel Madole, Dudley Madole, and Bennett Madole; and a sister, Dorothy Smith.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo., with burial to follow. The family suggests contributions to the Windsor Dog Pound or the American Legion Post #82 in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. Condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com.
