Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce two key leadership appointments within its Clinton Clinic. John Hughes has been named Director of Clinic Operations and Tara Zaugg has been named Director of Clinic Services.

Hughes joins GVMH with more than 15 years of healthcare leadership experience across rural hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, nonprofit organizations and behavioral health systems. His background includes executive leadership, strategic planning, financial oversight and operational transformation, with a strong focus on improving access to care and patient outcomes. In his role, Hughes oversees operations across the Clinton Clinic and provides direct oversight of the float pool, Same Day Care Clinic and Behavioral Health Services. He also leads systemwide process improvement initiatives and ensures regulatory compliance.

Zaugg, who previously served as Director of Clinic Services before transitioning to the Information Technology department, returns to the role with extensive organizational knowledge and proven leadership experience. Her ability to streamline processes and maintain operational readiness will ensure that the Clinton Clinic remains focused on delivering high-quality care. Zaugg’s collaborative approach and deep understanding of clinic operations position her to lead initiatives that enhance patient and staff experiences.

“John and Tara bring complementary strengths to our leadership team,” said Taylor Elwell, Executive Director of Clinic Services. “Their combined expertise and commitment to patient-centered care will help us continue to provide exceptional services to our community.”
