The Lowry City Board of Aldermen will meet Tuesday evening to consider routine business, financial reports and several action items, including the purchase of new street signs and approval of a lease agreement.
The regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Lowry City Hall Board Room.
Following the call to order, pledge of allegiance and roll call, the board will consider approval of the regular and closed session minutes from January 20, 2026, along with closed session minutes from January 29, 2026.
Board members listed on the agenda include East Ward Alderman Jackie Cutler and Charles Cone, West Ward Alderman Shirley Edmunds and Sean Langston, along with Mayor Patricia Landes.
Among the items on the bills list is an invoice from Empire Electric. City officials note the charges were for three phase monitors totaling $480 and eight hours of diagnostic work totaling $960, for work completed in June and December of 2024.
The board will also review payments related to the city’s 2026 fireworks show. AM Pyrotechnics received a $2,800 partial payment on January 23, 2026. The board previously agreed to reserve Saturday, July 4, 2026, for this year’s show, with an 80-percent payment due by February 1 and the remaining 20 percent to be paid in May.
Financial reports for the month ending January 31, 2026 will be presented. The report shows total income at 63 percent and total expenses at 66.3 percent of the budgeted amounts for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
Under old or unfinished business, aldermen are expected to consider an updated quote for missing street signs from Missouri Vocational Enterprises, a program within the Missouri Department of Corrections. The revised estimate totals $1,775 and includes 26 street signs, one yield sign, brackets and 20 round 10-foot posts. City officials note the list was revised to include only missing signs, not faded signs. A motion is requested to move forward with the purchase.
New business includes consideration of a yearly lease agreement for the Quilt Guild and a presentation or request from Brandy Bourland, with no topic listed on the agenda.
Time will also be set aside for citizen comments, with speakers asked to state their name for the record and limit remarks to three minutes.
Department reports will be given by City Hall, the police department, fire department and public works department. Mayor’s notes will follow before adjournment.
A copy of the meeting notice was posted on the city’s public board and emailed to the St. Clair County Courier. Copies of related reports, minutes and bills or ordinances may be obtained by contacting City Hall prior to 3 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
