The Clinton City Council will hold its regular meeting Tuesday, March 3, at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 105 E. Ohio Street.

Among the key items on the agenda is the second reading of Bill No. 2026-02, which would rezone property at 1531 N. Vansant from A-1 Agriculture to C-1 Neighborhood Commercial. The rezoning request was submitted by First Baptist Church and has received unanimous recommendations for approval from both the Planning Commission (5-0) and the Public Works Committee (2-0).

The Public Works Committee will also provide a detailed report, including updates on the city’s wastewater system. Pedrotti is expected on site to fine-tune operations of a new electrical panel at the wastewater treatment plant, while work on the east sludge basin is anticipated to begin in April. The committee will recommend the purchase of a Komline aerator for the west sludge basin at a cost of $25,400. Council members will also hear updates on repairs to the Calvird Lift Station following a recent sanitary sewer overflow caused by a generator malfunction, as well as ongoing discussions with PLZ Corp. regarding the use of effluent meters to calculate sewer fees.

In Parks and Recreation matters, updates will include an evaluation of the Community Center elevator, replacement of a concrete pad at Artesian Park Shelter House #5, repairs to park facilities and ball fields, and plans to solicit bids for interior repairs at the therapy pool. Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare has committed to covering 50 percent of the therapy pool repair costs, up to $25,000. Additional projects include concession stand upgrades at the soccer complex and electrical repairs at the Wagoner East Baseball Field.

The Public Safety Committee will report on city tow service information and provide an update on fire department hose testing. The council will also hear the Mayor’s Report, the City Administrator’s Report, and take up unfinished business related to a proposed LAGERS L6 plan.

Following the open meeting, council members may enter a closed session under Missouri law to discuss legal matters and sealed bids or proposals.

Residents wishing to speak during the meeting are asked to complete a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk prior to the call to order. Comments are limited to three minutes. Those needing accommodations should contact City Hall at (660) 885-6121 at least 48 hours before the meeting.
