Fire crews responded to a residential structure fire Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of East Franklin Street.
According to officials, crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:51 p.m. and arrived to find the front portion of the home heavily involved in fire. Firefighters reported that excessive items inside the residence contributed to the rapid spread of the fire and made suppression efforts more challenging.
The fire was brought under control, but crews remained on scene as large amounts of smoldering debris are still present inside the home. Firefighters are continuing to sift through debris to ensure all hot spots are fully extinguished, a process expected to take several hours.
The Clinton Fire Department was assisted through fire mutual aid by the Calhoun Fire Department and the Urich Fire Department. Golden Valley EMS and the Clinton Police Department also responded and provided assistance at the scene.
Officials confirmed that no one was living in the home at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
