Henry County Emergency Management hosted a tabletop exercise Tuesday evening at the Clinton Regional Airport, bringing together multiple agencies to simulate a response to a plane crash.
The training focused on coordination, communication, and emergency response planning in the event of a major aviation incident. While officials emphasized they hope such a situation never occurs, they noted that preparation and teamwork are essential to protecting the community.
Participants said the exercise highlighted the importance of agencies working together as one team to ensure the safety of Henry County residents.
Agencies in attendance included the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Clinton Fire Department, Calhoun Fire Department, Deepwater Fire Department, Tightwad Fire Department, Windsor Fire Department, Henry County 911 Communications, the Henry County Local Emergency Planning Committee, Henry County Commissioners Jim Stone and Mark Larson, and staff from the Clinton Regional Airport.
Emergency Management officials thanked all participants for their dedication to public safety and said continued collaboration helps strengthen the county’s ability to respond effectively during emergencies.
