EL DORADO SPRINGS, Mo. — An important regional conversation about access to affordable, quality child care will take center stage this weekend during the Kids Care Fair in El Dorado Springs.
The free, family-friendly event is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Liston Center, located at 508 North Main Street.
Organizers say the fair is designed to bring together families, employers, and community leaders to address one of the most pressing issues facing rural communities — the availability of reliable child care. The event will feature games, prizes, and food trucks for children and families, while adults will have the opportunity to connect with local resources, learn about solutions currently in development, and engage in conversations with regional leaders.
State lawmakers are also expected to attend, underscoring the growing importance of the issue across West-Central Missouri.
A short presentation highlighting local data, personal experiences, and potential solutions is planned for 11 a.m. The discussion will focus on challenges and opportunities impacting families and businesses in Cedar, Henry, Polk, and St. Clair counties.
Organizers hope the Kids Care Fair will help raise awareness, build partnerships, and move the region closer to long-term solutions that support both working families and local employers.
