The Clinton Fire Department has announced that outdoor burn restrictions are now in effect within the city limits due to ongoing dry and windy conditions and an increase in wildfire activity.
Officials say that all forms of outdoor burning are prohibited during this time. The department will not issue burn permits until further notice, and residents who fail to comply with the restrictions could face citations.
Fire officials are asking for the public’s cooperation to help reduce the risk of grass and wildfire incidents. Anyone who observes an unauthorized burn is encouraged to contact Clinton Fire Headquarters at (660) 885-2560 and speak with the on-duty crew.
The Clinton Fire Department says the restrictions will remain in place until weather conditions improve.
