CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — The superintendent of Harrisonville Schools is facing charges following an incident at a Lake of the Ozarks resort earlier this year.
According to court documents, Joseph Parkhurst has been charged with trespassing and property damage in Camden County stemming from a March incident at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach.
Deputies with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office were called to the resort, where staff reported finding Parkhurst intoxicated, asleep, and in his underwear inside the LandShark Bar.
Security personnel removed Parkhurst from the bar, and staff later reported significant damage to the property. According to reports, the damage included numerous plastic cups that had been used, several partially consumed pitchers and margarita mix, empty beer cans, broken beer taps, a damaged computer, a broken landline phone, and damage to ceiling tiles.
The incident occurred during the timeframe of a conference hosted by the Missouri Association of School Administrators, which was held at the resort March 18–20. Reports indicates that Parkhurst had been reimbursed by the district for registration to attend the conference.
Parkhurst is scheduled to appear in court on April 21 at 9 a.m. in Camdenton.
No additional details have been released at this time.
