A Blairstown woman is facing felony charges following a reported shooting incident in Henry County.
According to a probable cause statement filed by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, 66-year-old Donna J. Cutler is charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Subsection 9 – Shooting At/From a Motor Vehicle, at a Person, Motor Vehicle, or Building, a Class B felony under Missouri law.
Authorities say the incident occurred on April 17, 2026, in the 100 block of East 5th Street in Blairstown. Deputies were dispatched to the scene around 2:48 p.m. for a reported shooting involving a handgun.
According to investigators, Cutler exited a residence with her hands up after deputies arrived and was taken into custody without incident. A small child was reportedly inside the home at the time.
In statements to deputies, Cutler admitted to firing two rounds into the ground, claiming she was attempting to scare off a man she said had threatened her. She told officers she believed the individual may have pulled a knife, though she was unsure.
However, the alleged victim told deputies a different account, stating he was walking near the property when Cutler began yelling and then fired multiple shots in his direction. He estimated he was approximately 35 to 45 yards away at the time.
Investigators later recovered a black and silver Hi-Point .380 caliber handgun inside the residence, along with four spent shell casings found near the property.
Authorities also noted that Cutler admitted to drinking alcohol before and after the incident. A portable breath test reportedly showed a blood alcohol content of .110.
No injuries were reported.
The case remains under investigation, and formal charges have been filed in Henry County Circuit Court.
