Deloris Ann Smith, 89, of Windsor, Missouri, passed away Friday afternoon, May 8, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp, Mo.
She was born August 30, 1936, in Vine Grove, Kentucky, the daughter of Claude Ervin Priddy and Bertha Elizabeth (Ray) Priddy. On October 11, 1952, she married Elmo Everett Smith in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2013.
Deloris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was talented at baking and enjoyed painting, making handmade cards for loved ones, and reading. She enjoyed hosting Sunday dinners, spending time with her grandchildren and reminiscing on her Kentucky roots. Her home was always a place of comfort, hospitality and beautiful flower gardens. When her eyesight failed, she drew comfort from God in listening to hymns and having fellowship with dear friends and family. Above all else, she loved the Lord.
Survivors include 4 children, Rebecca A. Murray (John), Belgrade, Montana, Johnney D. Smith (Sally), Wittenburg, Wisconsin; Daniel A. Smith (LaVonne), Edgerton, Wisconsin and Paul A. Smith (Michelle), Windsor, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Andrea Smith, Leila Johnson, Cody Murray, Naomi Okeowo, Addie Smith, Landon Smith, Leah Smith, Derek Smith, BoAnn Smith, and Clive Smith; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild on the way; a brother, Layman Priddy, McLeansboro, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Judy Priddy; many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces; and a host of friends. In addition to her husband Elmo, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, David Priddy and Harold “Junior” Ray, a sister, Hazel as well as a sister-in-law Mildred Braund and husband John, brother-in-law Sylvan Smith and wife Velma.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Daniel Farris, Arlene Leszewski and Valerie Grover officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
