
The Henry County Commission met pursuant to adjournment at the courthouse in Clinton, Missouri.
Those members present were: Jim Stone – Presiding Commissioner
Rick Fosnow – North District Commissioner
Dale Lawler – South District Commissioner
Rick Watson- County Clerk
At 9:02 a.m. Commissioner Stone brought the meeting to order.
The agenda was approved as presented.
The minutes from the Tuesday, July 30th, 2024 meeting were read; Commissioner Fosnow made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Lawler seconded the motion, motion carried.
Expenditures from the following were approved to be paid:
August Elections Law Enforcement Fund Road and Bridge
Victim Advocate Sheriff’s Civil Fund County Clerk
Administrative Handling Cost Fund General County Government Law Enforcement Dept
Employee Benefits Prosecuting Attorney Buildings and Grounds
Juvenile Office Assessor Emergency Mngt
The Commission signed an order to vacate portions of NE 700 Rd, in Honey Creek Township, as a result of the public hearing on July 16, 2024.
Commissioner Stone shared of a flood plain permit he is getting worked on by Emergency Management Director Mark Hardin. After review of the address, it was determined to be in the city of Clinton’s jurisdiction.
There was a brief discussion on the county’s senior citizen’s tax freeze ordinance. Jim shared that the Presiding Commissioner’s from Bates and Benton County’s are favorable to the ordinance.
Dennis Bowers met with the Commission. He shared that the Augusta St bridge rebuild, in Clinton, is complete, and the equipment has been moved out. He stated that he will have some documents, that need to be signed, next week.
Dennis shared that the 2021 Freightliner will be ready to pick up tomorrow. He will also pick up a new concrete saw, while in Springfield. He continued by sharing that the crew will have to replace 2 box culverts on SW 700 Rd in Fairview. Then they will go to SE 1001 Rd in Leesville to replace a narrow bridge with an oblique culvert. He stated that Tebo Township is going to hire the bridge crew to do ditch work in their township.
Dennis distributed soft match documents of the bridge repair on SW 700 Rd in Fairview. The credit totaled $87,676.17. The group discussed the soft match balance.
There was discussion on the 2 BRO bridges, as it is undergoing engineering, which should be available next week.
