Radford Media Group inquired with the City of Clinton’s Economic Developer, Mark Dawson on a few announced projects that hasn’t came to fruition. The first being the development at the North Junction of Highway 7 & 13 and extending west toward Rives Road and the old Holiday Inn building.
Dawson explained that “the planned TIF happened before my time, so I really don’t have any background.” This project in which an empty shell of a building has stood for numerous years with little to no work being done, was announced in 2019 to be a retail shopping district and gas station.
Another project that was announced last year by Economic Development was the D-luxe Properties in the Gerhart Industrial Park. Dawson stated that they have acquired the site and are reevaluating , due to worldwide market changes and the huge price increase in structural steel products.
On a more positive note, Dawson also shared with Radford Media Group that he very optimistic for several other projects that are going thru the process at this time.
