John Marvin Ferguson

John Marvin Ferguson, 87, of Windsor, Missouri, died late Friday evening, October 18, 2024, at his home.

He was born March 24, 1937, in Calhoun, Mo., the only child of Edgar William Ferguson and Ora Amelia (Failer) Ferguson. On September 15, 1962, he married Juanita Pearl Brown at the Calvary Baptist Church in Windsor, and she survives of the home.

John graduated from Calhoun High School and served in the United States Army for two years. He worked at the International Shoe Factory as a foreman where he met the love of his life, Juanita. He then was a truck driver and mechanic for Peabody Coal Co before working in maintenance at the former Resthaven Nursing Home. He also worked in maintenance at Parmalee Industries until retiring to enjoy life on the farm. A true outdoorsman, he liked to cut wood, garden, fish, and hunt. He enjoyed visiting and easily made friends and had a special way with the animals that made their home on the farm. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Windsor.

In addition to his wife Juanita, survivors include 2 children, Marvin Randal Ferguson (Julie), Warsaw, Mo., and Sandra Kay Garrigus, Windsor, Mo.; 7 grandchildren, Mike Jay Ferguson, Melissa Marie Ferguson, Ashley Nicole Riddle, Amanda Brook Ealy, Dylan Lee Witherspoon, Katie Pittman, and Michael Maybee; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Duane Duchesne officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. before the service at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to Golden Valley Hospice in care of the funeral home.
