HENRY COUNTY COMMISSION, HENRY COUNTY MISSOURI
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 6, 2025, 11th DAY OF THE JANUARY TERM
The Henry County Commission met pursuant to adjournment at the courthouse in Clinton, Missouri.
Those members present were: Jim Stone – Presiding Commissioner
Mark Larson – North District Commissioner
Rick Watson – County Clerk
Absent: Jake Bradley – South District Commissioner
At 9:04 a.m. Commissioner Stone brought the meeting to order.
The agenda was approved as presented.
The minutes from the Tuesday, February 4, 2025 meeting were read; Commissioner Larson made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Stone seconded the motion, motion carried.
The expenditures from the following offices were approved to be paid:

The Commission signed a Notice of Award letter, for Modot, stating that the county selected Mera Excavating to construct the BRO-R042(30) bridge, on NW400 Rd, over White Oak Creek, in White Oak Township.
Clerk Rick shared a letter from Clinton Township requesting that the Commission appoint Bob Parks to fill the vacancy on their board, due to the passing of Harding Braun. The Commission tabled the decision, due to the absence of South District Commissioner Jake Bradley.
The Commission reviewed a request from Shawnee Communications for a support letter for their efforts to build out broadband infrastructure in the rural areas of the county. The Commission approved.
The Commission briefly discussed amending the CART contracts with the townships and special road districts.
Chuck Kaiser, with Murphy Tractors, met with the Commission for a solicitation of road graders and road groomers that they can supply. He also shared of road grader operating training that Murphy can provide for the townships and special road districts, potentially with a simulator.
Dennis Bowers, Road and Bridge Supervisor, updated the Commissioners on the soft match credit is has been waiting for. He stated that the SW701 bridge, in Bear Creek, was submitted 2 months ago is about finalized by Modot; the NE100 bridge, in Bethlehem Township, was submitted 8 months ago, MoDot has just now requested additional information; the SW700 bridge, in Fairview Township is almost through the process of approval. He stated that the NW1501 bridge, from Bogard, will be submitted soon.
Dennis shared that the some of the crew has been working on building shelving for record retention at the bridge barn, as they are waiting on the weather to break.
Dennis shared that the crew has also worked about 11 hours on the roads in Fields Creek Township, with another 11 hours needed.
The Commission visited with a constituent on the conditions of the approach to 18Hwy from SW901 Rd, as the gravel road needs to be smoothed out. He was referred to Ted Holt of the Davis Township Board.
There was brief discussion on the county getting a road grader.
