Tommie Lou Everly

Tommie Lou Everly, 83, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025. Born on November 19, 1941, to Jack and Easter Braswell, she grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School.

Marrying her sweetheart, Donald L. Watson on March 4, 1963, they had 2 sons, Curt and James. After 14 years of marriage, her husband was lost to cancer in January 1978. At a Parents without Partners meeting, she met Michael J. Everly and once again fell in love. They were married in 1979, resulting in 46 years together. She welcomed Barbara as a stepdaughter, blending their families together.

A dedicated professional, she worked as an administrative assistant at Allied Signal and United Telecom before retiring as a secretary in the Lee’s Summit School District. Beyond her career, she was a devoted Christian with an active prayer life and a deep love for her faith. She found great joy in attending Sunday School and sharing her kindness with others.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald L. Watson, her parents, and her sister, Mary Lynne Cornell. She is survived by husband Mike, sons, Curt Watson (Lora) of St. Augustine, FL, and James Watson (Kim) of Lee’s Summit, and stepdaughter, Barbara Gorman (Pierce) of Lee’s Summit. Grandchildren Jennifer Delaney (Mike), Emily Leheney (Chris), Benjamin Watson, Stewart Watson, Kendall Watson, and Lindsey Watson, and three great-grandchildren: Brooke Bergquist, Liam Leheney, and Lucy Leheney, her brother, Robert “Bobby” Braswell, and sister, Karen Deck.

She will be remembered for her kind, loving heart and warm, welcoming smile. Her legacy of faith and love will live on in the lives of those she touched.

Funeral services to honor Tommie’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Monday March 10, 2025, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Rick Friesen officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
