Clinton’s Walmart Supercenter, Store #20, marked a new chapter in its long-standing community presence with a grand re-opening celebration following a full remodel. Hosted by David Lee of the Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce, the well-attended event highlighted both the store’s updated features and its deep-rooted commitment to the community.

The ceremony featured remarks from several local and corporate leaders including Store Manager Matt Cable, Walmart Market Manager Mark Heller, Clinton Mayor Carla Moberly, and Walmart pioneer Jane Marshall — the company’s first-ever female store manager and former manager of the Clinton location.

In a strong show of community support, Walmart presented a total of $10,000 in grants to nine area nonprofit organizations: Lakeland High School, Clinton High School JROTC, Henry County Health Center, ByGrace Performance Studio, Forged By Christ, Share & Care, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, the Clinton Senior Center, and the Sunrise Optimist Club.

Adding to the local flavor of the day, Clinton High School JROTC Color Guard presented the flags and the Lakeland High School band and choir delivered live performances that helped energize the crowd and underscore the celebratory atmosphere.

The remodeled store now features a refreshed layout, expanded services, and updated technology aimed at improving the customer shopping experience — all while reaffirming Walmart’s long-standing connection to the Clinton community.
