An early morning violent estimated F5 tornado cut a 45-mile path through Howard and Mitchell counties in Texas. The tornado, which eclipsed a mile in width, “wiped entire farms off the face of the earth.” 23 people were killed and 250 were injured. The First Baptist Church in Colorado City, Texas, became an emergency hospital for tornado victims.
