The State Fair Community College athletic department is seeking sponsors and participants for its 14th annual SFCC Athletic Department Golf Tournament, set for Monday, July 28, at the Sedalia Country Club. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarship support for all SFCC sports programs.
Funds raised will support general athletic scholarships, as well as named scholarships that benefit individual programs, including track and field, cross country, esports, shooting sports, and men’s and women’s golf. The event also supports the Bob Oehrke Memorial Scholarship for women’s basketball, the Kent Gwaltney Memorial Scholarship for men’s basketball, the Ross Dey Memorial Scholarship for baseball, the Mike Bryson Memorial Scholarship for men’s and women’s soccer, and the Mandy Thomas Memorial Scholarship for softball.
The tournament will follow a three-person scramble format at $120 per person. The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, one mulligan per person, and multiple pin prizes. Tee times are available at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., and payouts will be issued as Sedalia Country Club Pro Shop credit, based on a full field.
A silent auction will run throughout the day, featuring items such as gift baskets, sports memorabilia, and more. A live auction will take place after the conclusion of the afternoon round.
“We love this time of year and getting to see the support from the community,” head softball coach Michele Rupard said. “The money raised goes directly to scholarships which benefit our student-athletes. We are so thankful for all the participants and sponsors year in and year out. We look forward to seeing everyone at the tournament and auction.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available at various levels. For more information, to make a donation, or to register a team, visit sfccmoroadrunners.com and click on the “Support” tab.
