Clinton Police have filed multiple felony charges against 31-year-old South Dakota man, Jacob Straczuk following a tense standoff that unfolded Saturday night.
Straczuk was taken into custody on September 12th and booked into the Henry County Jail. According to the Clinton Police Department, Straczuk now faces four serious charges:
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Subsection 9: accused of shooting from a motor vehicle at a person, vehicle, or building
- Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop by Fleeing: creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to others while attempting to flee
- Property Damage in the First Degree
- Armed Criminal Action
Police say the charges stem from his alleged actions during Friday’s incident, in which officers responded to reports of shots fired and ultimately engaged in a standoff situation at West Bridge Inn & Suites before Straczuk was arrested.
No officers or bystanders were reported injured during the confrontation. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details may be released as the case proceeds through the courts.
