Patty May Sammons

Patty May Sammons, 64, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Joplin.

She was born July 10, 1961, in Warsaw, Mo., the daughter of Charles Wesley Wassam and Mildred Marie (Taylor) Wassam. On March 10, 2012, in Tightwad, Mo., she married Toni Dean Sammons and he survives of the home.

Patty worked at the former Windsor Hospital and Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton as a CNA for several years. She then worked at Tyson in Sedalia and Schriebers/Clearfield in Clinton. She continued her work with Schriebers by transferring to the plant in Carthage, Mo. She was very creative as a home decorator and enjoyed drawing, painting and crafting. She enjoyed Bible study and was a godly woman.

In addition to her husband Toni, survivors include a son, Robert “B.J.” Martinez, Windsor, Mo.; a daughter, Jamie Rochelle Thomas (Paul), Windsor, Mo.; 9 grandchildren, Lilly Stone, Luke Martinez, Megan Martinez, Amarillo Martinez; Cheyenne Swiatek (Thomas), Jyllian Lloyd, Bryleekilynn Lloyd, Dakotah Lloyd, and Teagan Thomas; 4 great-grandchildren, Addie, Lillith, Wyatt, and Elijah Swiatek; 9 brothers and sisters, Marilyn Little, Mary Dugger, Alice Bailey, Sam Wassam, Larry Wassam, Tom Wassam, Cindy Childress, Tammie Evans, and Terry Wassam; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. Burial will follow in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, Mo. Condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com.
