The Missouri State Health Insurance Program trains Care Connection counselors to provide unbiased comparisons of the total costs for the plan year. The comparisons are based on a beneficiary’s prescription medications and preferred pharmacy.
Beneficiaries will need to have their Medicare number, preferred pharmacy, and prescription names, dosages, and frequency to get accurate comparisons.
The plan comparison service is one of the most popular that the area agency on aging provides during the fall, when Medicare opens enrollment annually for Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage plans.
Beneficiaries are encouraged to make the comparisons annually because Medicare plans change, and many individuals’ health and medications may be different. The enrollment period ends on Dec. 7.
