A Clinton Police officer was injured Sunday morning, October 19, 2025, after being struck by a fleeing suspect’s vehicle during a violent domestic assault investigation that ended with the suspect crashing into Truman Lake.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Officer Tyler Lawson of the Clinton Police Department, officers were dispatched to a local convenience store following reports of a woman seeking help. The victim told police her ex-boyfriend, Mikael Antonio Farr, had assaulted her and refused to let her leave.
When officers arrived, they located Farr asleep in the victim’s car. As Officer Lawson ordered Farr to step out of the vehicle, Farr suddenly accelerated in reverse, striking the officer and throwing him onto the hood of his patrol car. Farr then fled the scene, prompting a police pursuit.
Officers pursued the suspect at speeds nearing 90 miles per hour. The chase ended when Farr drove off the roadway into Truman Lake. He exited the vehicle, attempted to flee on foot into the water, but was eventually detained by Clinton Police.
Following the arrest, officers returned to speak with the victim, who detailed a series of assaults leading up to the incident. She told police Farr had grabbed her by the hair, slammed her head into the interior of the vehicle, and repeatedly prevented her from escaping.
Court records indicate Farr has a prior conviction from 2016 for Robbery in the 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action in Jackson County, Missouri.
Farr now faces multiple felony charges including:
-
Assault – 2nd Degree (Special Victim) – Class B Felony (RSMo 565.052)
-
Aggravated Fleeing a Stop or Detention – Class D Felony (RSMo 575.151)
-
Tampering with a Motor Vehicle – 1st Degree – Class D Felony (RSMo 569.080)
