The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Leeton Police Chief Rick Stropes and the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office, has announced progress in the investigation of an arson incident at the Leeton United Methodist Church.
According to officials, the investigation determined that juveniles were responsible for the fire. Due to their age, authorities are unable to release any identifying information, in accordance with Missouri law governing juvenile records.
The case will now be referred to the Johnson County Juvenile Office for further review and appropriate action.
Law enforcement agencies expressed gratitude for the public’s assistance during the investigation, stating, “We appreciate the community’s support and cooperation.”
