Happy Halloween! Daylight Saving Time officially ends this Sunday
On Sunday, November 2, at 2:00 am, Daylight Saving Time will conclude across the United States. It’s once again time to “fall back” — don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour as we return to standard time and change the batteries in your smoke and other detectors.

The Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce is giving you the chance to win…several chances to win, actually.
For the 6th year in a row, it’s the Clinton Chamber’s ‘Receipt to Receive’.
Folks can now bring in a receipt from a Clinton Chamber business that’s a retail business or restaurant, or email that receipt, and you will then be entered to win. Thus…Receipt to Receive.
At the Chamber, we will copy or scan that receipt and get your name and phone number.
Keep in mind that the item(s) on your receipt must be at least $25 in purchases on that receipt and those items need to be purchased from members of the Clinton Chamber to be entered, but you can enter multiple times each week with different receipts.
Each week, those receipts will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Chamber gift certificate. We will give our prize away each Monday. To be entered to win each Monday, you must bring at least one receipt to the Chamber that previous week. All qualifying receipts will be eligible for our grand prize giveaway.
On Christmas Eve, we will take ALL those receipts entered and draw the big winner of $200 in Chamber certificates.
The Clinton Chamber of Commerce is giving away $400 in Chamber gift certificates with our eight weekly winners and that grand prize winner of $200 in Chamber gift certificates.
We are open Monday through Friday from 8am until 4:30pm at 200 South Main St.
You can find a list of Clinton Chamber members when you go to www.ClintonMO.com, call the Clinton Chamber at 660-885-8166, email joyce@clintonmo.com, or look for the Clinton Chamber decal near the front of each business.
Once again, receipts will only be accepted from Chamber retail businesses and restaurants.
Good luck!

West Central Missouri Community Action Agency at Risk of Closing Multiple Programs & Services in 9 Counties Due to Continued Government Shutdown
Appleton City, MO – October 29, 2025 – West Central Missouri Community Action Agency (“West Central”) today issued a warning that critical programs serving over 13,120 west central Missouri residents in need are at risk of closing if the government shutdown continues.
West Central relies on federal funding to provide west central Missourians with tailored local programs for individuals and families facing financial hardship. These services, ranging from job training to food and energy assistance, support west central Missouri community members often on the brink of disaster and enable them to achieve self-sufficiency. If the shutdown continues on/past Thanksgiving, many of these programs may be forced to close for an unforeseeable amount of time.
“Federal funds are not just part of our budget—they’re the foundation that keeps West Central Missouri Community Action Agency operating,” said Mary Lou Schussler, CEO. “For over six decades, we’ve stood alongside families in need. But if the shutdown persists, we’ll be forced to scale back essential programs that thousands of local residents rely on.”

The Clinton Tourism Association would like to thank the Truman Lake Community Foundation for the grant they awarded, as we work, with others, to make the power on the Courthouse lawn safer, more reliable, and easier to use. This will benefit Clinton Tourism, Olde Glory Days, Chamber of Commerce, Clinton Main Street, Cruise Nights, and others. We also hope our finished product will help bring more activities to the Downtown Clinton Square.
