U.S. Rep. Mark Alford (R-Mo.) has pressed the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and the Office of Investment Security in the U.S. Department of the Treasury for a classified briefing after a report revealed that a trailer park located less than a mile from Whiteman Air Force Base — home to the B-2 stealth bomber fleet — is allegedly owned by companies tied to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) proxy networks.
Alford’s letter states that the land acquisition “adjacent to one-third of our nuclear triad” is “deeply concerning” from a national-security standpoint. He demands to know whether the acquisition was reviewed by CFIUS, and if so, what the outcome was. If no review occurred, he calls for one to be conducted swiftly.
Alford also appeared on NewsNation to discuss the matter, underscoring the urgency of the issue and the need for transparent action.
