WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Registration is open for Summer Arts Camps hosted by the University of Central Missouri (UCM) School of Visual and Performing Arts. The camps will run from June 7-12 on the Warrensburg campus

The Summer Arts Camps offer an immersive and encouraging opportunity for students to explore their creative side and make friends from across the region. There are four camp divisions: Summer Music Camp, Summer Theater and Dance Camp, Summer Art Camp and the Summer Piano and Organ Institute. Students will select a primary camp, but can take classes from any of the other areas as their interests and schedule permit.

Numerous courses will cover topics including improvisation, music theory, music technology, instrumental and vocal ensembles, private music lessons, songwriting, ukulele, acting, musical theater dance, stage make-up and wig application, figure drawing, costume design, painting, ceramics, and comic design. A final listing of courses will be announced in March.

Participants will take courses in UCM’s state-of-the-art facilities, such as the Highlander Theatre, dance studio, music practice rooms featuring Steinway pianos, graphic design computer lab, and Art and Design studios and galleries.

The camps are open to students who completed grades 7-12 during the 2025-26 academic year. Students have the option to commute from home or stay in one of the university’s air-conditioned dormitories. All participants will be under the supervision of UCM faculty and students.

Camp performances and the final Art Gallery show will be open to the public.

Registration closes May 16 or when enrollment reaches capacity. For more information or to register, visit ucmo.edu/artscamps or contact Mia Kim, Ph.D., professor of Piano and camp director, at 660-543-8900 or mkim@ucmo.edu.
