Students in the Adrian, Missouri community have launched a new student organization aimed at encouraging civic engagement, faith-based discussion, and community service.
Earlier this month, it was announced that a chapter of Turning Point USA — the national organization founded by Charlie Kirk — has been established in Adrian. Organizers say the chapter is student-led and was brought to the school by student Kenton Merrifield, who hopes the group will promote discussions about faith, civic responsibility, and community involvement.
Merrifield is helping lead the chapter alongside Addy Mizell, with additional student leadership positions expected to be filled through elections later this month.
The chapter held its first meeting on March 7, drawing strong interest from the community. Organizers said attendance was impressive, with numerous students taking part along with parents who attended to listen and observe the student-led discussion. Four local law enforcement officers were also present during the meeting.
Organizers say the group plans to focus not only on conversations about Christianity and politics but also on community service projects around Adrian. Students involved with the chapter hope to organize volunteer efforts such as cleaning churches, maintaining parks and buildings, and helping with projects that benefit their hometown.
Students leading the chapter say they look forward to growing the organization and providing opportunities for young people in Adrian to become more involved in their community while discussing issues important to them.
