For farm operators and landowners who want to sharpen their understanding of farm finances, the University of Missouri Extension offers an in-person Annie’s Project program, “Farm Financials Made Easy” comprised of opportunities to better understand the Schedule F tax form, farm balance sheet, and farm financial performance measures.
“This program exists because of the questions I’ve been getting from farm operators themselves, as well as feedback from Ag Lenders,” said Amie Breshears, MU Extension Ag Business Field Specialist in Benton County.
“The goal of this series is to educate and empower farm operators as decision-makers by equipping them with financial knowledge and resources,” said Breshears.
All are welcome to participate in this informal, participant-driven and learner-focused event.
The program will enable farm operators to better understand the Schedule F tax form, farm balance sheet, and farm financial performance measures, which can help them make sound decisions when considering farm expenditures and planning for taxes.
“Farm financial performance varies from farm to farm. Understanding farm financial performance measures, can help farm operators maximize profitability and prepare for sustainable success,” said Breshears.
The “Farm Financials Made Easy” program can give participants sufficient time to make improvements in 2026 as well as prepare for 2027.
“You’ll gain confidence when discussing these topics with co-owners and other decision-makers in the operation,” said Breshears.
The program runs for two hours and is in-person and engaging. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas, and have hands-on practice.
The cost is $20 per person. Two timeslots are available: 10am-noon or 6-8pm, both on April 14th, at the Henry County Extension Office at 120 E. Lincoln St. in Clinton, MO.
