Voters across Henry County are heading to the polls today, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, for the General Municipal Election, with a wide range of local races and ballot questions to decide.

Municipal races are on the ballot in several communities, including Montrose, Windsor, Tightwad, Calhoun, Clinton, Deepwater, and Blairstown.

In Montrose, voters are deciding races for mayor and aldermen in the north and south wards, along with a ballot question proposing a local use tax on out-of-state purchases to match the city’s existing local sales tax rate.

In Windsor, voters are selecting aldermen in Wards I, II, and III.

In the Village of Tightwad, voters are choosing two trustees and weighing a question that would allow the village to forgo annual elections when the number of candidates equals the number of available positions.

Calhoun voters are electing two aldermen at-large and deciding whether the city should provide citywide solid waste collection services for residential properties.

In the City of Clinton, voters are casting ballots in the mayoral race for a four-year term, along with council races in Wards I through IV.

In Deepwater, voters are choosing a mayor at-large and two aldermen at-large.

In Blairstown, voters are electing two council members and considering two separate tax levy questions—one for street expenses and one for park expenses—both proposed for four-year periods.

Several special districts and townships also have issues before voters today. Bear Creek Township residents are voting on extending a special road and bridge tax. Voters in the Stoneridge Common Sewer District are deciding whether to authorize the creation of a new common sewer district. The Warsaw Lincoln Ambulance District ballot includes a question on imposing a local use tax tied to the existing sales tax rate.

Multiple water districts, including Henry County Public Water Supply Districts and the Harry S. Truman Water Supply District No. 2, have board races and a consolidation question on the ballot.

School board elections are also taking place today in several districts, including Leeton R-X, Sherwood Cass R-VIII, Henry County R-1 (Windsor), and Leesville R-IX, with voters selecting multiple candidates for three-year terms.

Countywide questions are also before voters, including a proposal related to property tax exemptions and a separate measure asking voters to approve a countywide additional sales tax to fund law enforcement.

Polls are open throughout the day, and voters are encouraged to make their voices heard before they close this evening.
