
The Missouri Conservation Commission will hold its next meetings May 28 and 29 in the St. Louis and Washington, Missouri areas, with discussions planned on deer management, nonresident hunter participation, camping and shooting range regulations, timber sales, and the department’s Fiscal Year 2027 budget plan.
A closed executive session is scheduled for Thursday, May 28, at 1 p.m. at the St. Louis Zoo. Topics include legal matters, personnel recommendations, negotiated contracts, hunting and fishing privilege suspensions, and potential real estate transactions.
The regular open meeting will begin Friday, May 29, at 8:30 a.m. inside the Washington City Hall Council Chamber in Washington, Missouri.
Among the key agenda items are a deer management update and regulation recommendations, a presentation on nonresident hunter participation, and proposed camping and shooting range regulation changes. Commissioners will also review the department’s proposed Fiscal Year 2027 Internal Expenditure Plan.
Additional agenda items include consideration of a construction bid for the Pleasant Hope Conservation Area Shooting Range Relocation project in Brighton, Missouri, along with an amendment to a professional services agreement tied to the Bennett Spring Fish Hatchery Renovation Project in Laclede County.
The commission will also consider timber sale recommendations involving more than 1.2 million board feet of timber in Shannon and Wayne counties and a proposal to purchase approximately 127.5 acres adjacent to the Morris Prairie Conservation Area in Sullivan County.
