In 1958, Bob Cook and his father, Stephen, joined in a partnership to establish Henry County Farm & Tire Supply, which served as the areas Massey Ferguson Dealership. In the early 1960’s, Bob Cook held his first machinery auction as a way to liquidate his excess used inventory. He knew an auction would be the best avenue to do so. With the success of the first auction, a tradition was born and he began holding annual inventory reduction auctions. In 1973, Bob gave up the Massey Ferguson contract to focus on used equipment, new parts, used parts and rebuilt parts.

During the 1970s and early 1980s, five of Bob’s children joined him and a true family business was formed. By 1988 they had outgrown their current location, moving to a new location on Highway 7 in Clinton, MO. It was at this time they changed the name to Cook Tractor Co. The new location allowed additional space to hold monthly consignment auctions and for expanding the tractor and combine parts. Over the last 25 years the auction has grown into the largest monthly farm machinery consignment auction in the Midwest.

In 2012 the auction and parts business split and our name changed to Cook Auction Co. Even though our name has changed, we are still the same people, providing quality used equipment, with the same excellent service you have come to know over the years.
