Weekly Update From The Greater Clinton-Area Chamber Of Commerce

I will start off with a huge thanks to Franklin Brown, Joyce Carr, Bruce Dewsberry, Dave Garnett, Ed Horton, Bretta Plumlee and Bill Thole. They joined me, David Lee, on Nov. 9th in rebulbing the snowflakes that will line the streets of Clinton. We also have to thank the great folks at Elite Laundry for the use of their facilities.  Joyce and I would also like to thank CHS students Carley Combs, Carla Foster, Martha Fredrickson, Megan Radford, Lillian Spring and Layla Stringham. Also Bruce Dewsberry, David and Deb Mills, Bretta Plumlee and Bill Thole. Our work continued this past Tuesday night (11/16) finishing those snowflakes so they are now ready to be put up by the folks from Evergy.

One of the most beautiful stores on the Downtown Clinton Square was celebrating their five-year anniversary on Friday (11/19).  We went to the store with a cake and certificate and from everyone at the Chamber; best of luck to White Flower Quilt Shop these next five years…and beyond!!  Congratulations to Mary, Cheryl and everyone else that has made this store such a huge hit for Clinton.

Some students from Mizzou toured Downtown Clinton on Friday, Nov. 12th since they are working on a brochure as a class project to help attract people and businesses to our Downtown District. The owners and employees of the businesses we went into were more than welcoming and helpful. Tina with Clinton Main Street was in training today so I got to give these students their tour.

Dear Participant:

We would like to invite you and your organization to participate in the Sixteenth Annual Lighted Christmas Parade! Our theme this year is “Shining Brighter Together” and you, your family, organizations, and friends are invited to enter the parade and join the fun!

Our emcees will begin the program at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26th. The mayor will deliver a message from the Soldiers’ Memorial, switch on the lights around the Square, and the parade will begin! This event has been made possible through the combined efforts of Clinton Main Street and our volunteers.

At 5:00 the parade entries will gather at the old First Baptist Church parking lot at the corner of Jefferson and Third Streets. The parade will leave from First Baptist, go to Franklin Street to enter the square, circle the square on the inside and exit to the NE from the square. The inside traffic lane and the inside parking lane against the curb will be closed during the parade.

Because it will be dark at 6:00 p.m., included is a list of criteria for entries. We are confident if you follow these suggestions from the Parade Committee, you will be very pleased with the impact your entry will make.

Enclosed please find a registration form. If your group would like to be a part of the parade, please return to me by November 22nd at 116B W Jefferson St, Clinton, MO 64735 or email to mainstreet@clintonmo.com.

I am looking forward to our lighted Christmas parade and I hope you are too!

Main Street Executive Director

It’s Nov. and it’s time for the Holidays! You may think the Holidays don’t actually begin until after Thanksgiving. However, for the Greater Clinton-Area Chamber of Commerce, we are ready to give you a chance to win…several chances to win, actually.

It’s the Clinton Chamber’s Second-Annual ‘Receipt to Receive’.

Right now, folks can bring in or email a receipt from a Clinton Chamber-member business and they will then be entered to win. Thus, Receipt to Receive.

At the Chamber, we will copy, scan or print that receipt and get your name and phone number. Keep in mind that the item or items on your receipt has to be at least $25 in total and those items need to be purchased from members of the Clinton Chamber to be entered, but you can enter multiple times each week with different receipts. Each week, those receipts will be entered into a drawing to win $25 in Chamber gift certificates. We will give our prize away each Monday starting Nov. 8th. To be entered to win each Monday, you must bring at least one receipt to the Chamber that previous week. All qualifying receipts will be eligible for our grand prize giveaway.

On Dec. 23rd at noon, we will take ALL those receipts entered and draw the big winner of $200 in Chamber certificates.

To get this promotion started, you can bring in those receipts, or email them, and we are open Monday through Friday from 8am until 4:30pm at 200 South Main St.

The Clinton Chamber of Commerce is giving away $375 in Chamber gift certificates with our seven weekly winners and that grand prize winner of $200 in Chamber gift certificates.

You can find a list of Clinton Chamber members when you go to www.clintonmo.com, call the Clinton Chamber at 660-885-8166 or look for the Clinton Chamber decal near the front of each business. You can email david@clintonmo.com or joyce@clintonmo.com.

The Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce is giving you the chance to get free money!  Our “150 to get 25” promotion is now underway.

All you have to do is buy at least $150 in Chamber gift certificates and we’ll give you an extra gift certificate worth $25.  That’s right, spend at least $150 with us and you’ll get an extra Christmas gift worth $25 for someone, or yourself!

This promotion began Nov. 1st and will end at 4pm on Dec. 23rd.  We are open Monday through Friday from 8am until 4:30pm.  If you would like for your gift certificates to be ready when you come in, just call ahead and tell us how much you are wanting to spend and any names you may want on the cards.

Gift certificates can be used at most of our Chamber-member businesses and you can find all of our nearly 400 Chamber members on our website, www.clintonmo.com.  To order your gift certificates or if you have any questions, just call 660-885-8166 or email david@clintonmo.com or joyce@clintonmo.com.  We are located at 200 South Main St.

Have you noticed?  We have a new website.  It’s still a work in progress but if you haven’t already, be sure to go to www.clintonmo.com.  This is the same address as our old website so that hasn’t changed, but the content has.  www.clintonmo.com is not just for the Chamber.  There, you will find info from the City, Main Street, Economic Development, Tourism, Parks and Recreation and more.  Once again, we are still learning how to put the best information available for the public on this website so be sure to make it one of your favorites and check it often.

If you are a Chamber member, you can be ‘Featured’:  You can either contact me or I WILL CONTACT YOU but the Chamber’s new program, ‘Featured’ with David Lee’ is underway.  We are filling the Chamber’s Facebook page with videos of our Chamber members, and this includes YOU!  I will come to your business, or you can come to the Chamber, and we will record a five to no-more-than 10 minute video about your business.  The content will be up to you.  The video can feature a business owner, a manager or an employee you trust to get the message out to the public.  It can feature more than one person if you want.  It’s just another service of your Clinton Chamber of Commerce.  The Facebook post will feature the interview and photos of your business.  Once a week for a month, your ‘Feature’ will be brought back to the top of our Facebook page.  After a month, of course it will still be on our Facebook page and our new website.  Just call, email or stop by the Chamber to schedule your interview.
