Good morning. Of course the popular question that I get asked over the last couple weeks has been when will we see our next chance of rain. One thing you have to keep in mind is that we have been so dry for so long, the entire column of our atmosphere is also just as dry. It take a very strong system to help saturate the entire column of air if we are to get any precipitation to fall to the ground. Our next best chance of seeing this happen is when the current High Pressure system finally breaks down and the jet stream is allowed to sink further south. Remember, the jet stream is the “route” where all the storm systems follow. This looks to be right around the 19th-25th of October and coincides with the LRC pattern as well (picture below). We will have 2 systems move across our area and likely be strong enough to produce some much needed moisture. We will also likely see a reinforcing shot of cooler air since the jet stream will be diving south bringing cooler Canadian air along with it. So let’s keep our fingers crossed that a Tropical System does not form and alter our chances. Subby
