An update to a story we first brought you earlier this month — a Harrisonville Schools administrator has now pleaded guilty following an incident at the Lake of the Ozarks.
According to court records, Joseph Parkhurst, assistant superintendent of human resources and operations for the Harrisonville School District, entered guilty pleas Thursday in Camden County to two misdemeanor charges: first-degree trespassing and second-degree property damage.
The charges stem from a mid-March incident at the LandShark Bar inside Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach. Authorities say Parkhurst was found intoxicated, asleep, and in his underwear inside the bar. He was escorted out by security before deputies responded.
As part of the plea agreement, Parkhurst received a suspended imposition of sentence and has been placed on two years of supervised probation. He is also required to complete 40 hours of community service within the next 12 months and must have no contact with Margaritaville Lake Resort or the LandShark Bar.
When the incident first became public, Harrisonville Schools confirmed it was conducting an internal review. As of now, the district has not released any updated statement following Thursday’s plea.
