(Clinton, Mo.) — May 21, 2026 Clinton School District is proud to announce Alyssa Bush as the next principal of Clinton Intermediate School beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
Bush currently serves as assistant principal at Clinton Intermediate School, where she has spent the past five years helping lead building initiatives focused on student success, school culture, and academic growth. During her time at CIS, she has played a key role in implementing the school’s House System, an initiative designed to foster unity, belonging, leadership, and positive competition among students. She has also been instrumental in the development of the Student Success Team at both the district and building levels, as well as curriculum alignment and pacing efforts at CIS.
Bush began her career in education teaching third grade at Crest Ridge Elementary before continuing her teaching career at Bryant Elementary. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Missouri, a Master of Education in Leadership from William Woods University, and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum Leadership from William Woods University.
Alyssa grew up near Clinton, where she met her husband, Brad. The couple, high school sweethearts, have three daughters, Maddie (19), Emma (16), and Aria (11). Their family also includes two dogs, a cat, and a snake. Outside of school, Bush enjoys spending time at the lake with her family, playing cards and dominoes, painting, and refinishing furniture.
“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as principal of Clinton Intermediate School,” said Bush. “Stepping from the assistant principal role into the principal role is exciting because it allows me to build on the relationships, trust, and passion I already have for our school community while leading with a bigger vision for student success, staff support, and school growth.”
Superintendent Dan Brungardt shared his confidence in Bush’s leadership and the continuity she will bring to the building.
“While we conducted a thorough search, it became clear that the best person to lead CIS was already right there in the building,” said Brungardt. “Having served as the assistant principal for the past five years, Alyssa has been a vital part of the success and culture built at CIS. The main priority with this transition is ensuring that the great work happening at CIS remains on track. Alyssa’s deep familiarity with the students, staff, and district goals makes her uniquely qualified to maintain that consistency.”
Clinton School District looks forward to the continued leadership and positive impact Mrs. Bush will bring to Clinton Intermediate School in her new role as principal.
